Director Madonne Ashwin’s second feature, Maaveeran in Tamil / Mahaveerudu in Telugu, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar in the lead roles. On the occasion of Ramadan, the makers have announced the film’s release date. The action-drama will hit the big-screens on August 11, during the Independence Day weekend.
Sivakarthikeyan has already wrapped up filming his portions for "Maaveeran", in which he reportedly essays the role of a cartoonist and will be seen performing some high-level action sequences in the film. The film also features Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Saritha, Sunil and others.
Bankrolled by Shanthi Talkies, the film has been edited by Philomin Raj, has cinematography by Vidhu Ayyanna and has music by Bharath Shankar.
The movie will clash with 'Animal' at the box office which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
Madonne Ashwin won the National Award for Best Debut Film of a Director for his 2021 political satire, Mandela. The film starred Yogi Babu as a barber whose vote settles the fate of a panchayat election.
