Malayalam star Kunchacko Boban’s thrillers such as Nayattu, Nizhal and Anjaam Pathiraa have been lapped up by the non-Malayali audience after their OTT releases. His recently released thriller film Pakalum Paathiravum, which hit theatres in March, is now gearing up for its digital release. The film will be available on Zee5 from April 28th onwards.
The movie, which is helmed by Ajai Vasudev and scripted by Nishad Koya, is based on Dayal Padmanabhan’s Kannada film Aa Karaala Rathri, which was inspired by a play named Lithuania by Rupert Brooke. Director Dayal also remake in Telugu as Anaganaga O Athidhi (2020), now streaming on AHA. The Tamil version was titled Kondraal Paavam released in 2023.
Synopsis: Michael is a wildlife photographer. With a hideous purpose he starts travelling from Kochi, Kerala to Mysore, Karnataka. As he travels through the Maoist-controlled areas of Wayanad, he confronts several intense and gripping situations, which are portrayed with great skill in the movie.
Apart from Kunchacko, Pakalum Paathiravum also had Rajisha Vijayan, Guru Somasundaram, Seetha and Manoj KU in prominent roles.
