Sandalwood actor Dhananjaya’s twenty-fifth film "Gurudev Hoysala" was released theatrically on March 30, 2023 and received positive reviews from critics. The film had clashed with Nani’s Dasara at the box office and came during the IPL and exam season, owing to which footfalls remained low.
Vijay Naagendra is the writer and director of Gurudev Hoysala and backed by KRG Studios. Gurudev Hoysala was widely lauded for addressing caste and border issues, as well as for the stupendous performances by its cast, led by Dhananjaya and ably supported by Naveen Shankar, Amrutha Iyengar, Mayuri Nataraj, Achyuth Kumar, among others.
Synopsis: A diligent police officer is reassigned to Athani to investigate the disappearance of a fellow officer. During the investigation, a young couple becomes a prime suspect and is apprehended by one of the officer’s subordinates and taken to the police station.

The action thriller film is now available on Amazon Prime Video. The film was scheduled to premiere on the OTT platform on April 27, 2023. The movie is streaming in Kannada original audio format with English subtitles.
