Malayalam Filmmaker Aashiq Abu's "Neelavelicham" has started streaming on the OTT Platform, a month after the film's theatrical release. The OTT premiere happened without any prior information, and this has come as a pleasant surprise to fans. The horror-thriller film is a new-age adaptation of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer's iconic story of the same name. Interestingly, it's also the remake of the 1964 film Bhargavi Nilayam, which is touted to be the first horror film in Malayalam cinema. Tovino Thomas, Rima Kallingal, and Roshan Mathew play the lead roles. 
Plot: A young, free-spirited writer arrives to stay in a desolate mansion, rumoured to be haunted by the apparition of a young woman who committed suicide when she was betrayed in love. Unwilling to swallow the story completely, the writer decides to investigate on his own. What probably might have happened with Bhargavi.
Those who missed watching it in theatres can catch it on Prime Video from May 20, 2023.
