After the blockbuster success of Thani Oruvan, Mohan Raja is back with the sequel of the action-romance Thani Oruvan 2 starring Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Thani Oruvan hit the theatres on August 28, 2015, and the trio is returning after eight years.
In the first installment, Jayam Ravi portrayed Mithran IPS, a dedicated cop on a mission to expose a corrupt scientist making money from his medical malpractices. Nayanthara portrayed the role of Mahima, a forensic specialist, and Mithran's lady love.
Thani Oruvan 2 announcement was made with a special promo. In the promo, Mohan Raja hinted at a role reversal. This time, the villain will actively seek out Mithran, adding an intriguing twist to the story. The shoot for Thani Oruvan 2 will commence next year in 2024
Sam CS will take over as the film's music composer, stepping into the shoes of Hip Hop Aadhi. Interestingly, Mohan Raja's name is listed in the cast category in the YouTube description of the promo, hinting that the director may have a role in the movie alongside his brother. As for the rest of the cast, details are yet to be revealed.
