Moothon was a 2019 Malayalam and Hindi crime drama film that was written and directed by Geetu Mohandas. All the Hindi dialogues were given by Anurag Kashyap. Moothon means elder brother in the Lakshadweep slang and the movie is about a teenager’s search for his elder brother. Cast Nivin Pauly, Sanjana Dipu, Shashank Arora, Sobhita Dhulipala, Roshan Mathew.
For the script, Geetu won the Global Filmmaking Award at the Sundance Film Festival. In Asia only Geethu Mohandas to bag the award. The film premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, followed by the 21st Jio MAMI Mumbai Film festival, where it was the opening movie. The film has been selected for the New York Indian Film Festival, getting nominated across four categories- best film, best director, best actor and best child actor.

Moothon is Geetu’s second feature, after Liar’s Dice in 2014 which was India’s official entry to the Oscars. The film shot on Lakshadweep and Mumbai. Moothon is streaming on ZEE5.
