Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are coming together yet again for a new project titled 12th Man. The movie's title also carries the tagline "Unveiling the Shadows". The poster features a misty, dark night, with a man on the outside, looking at the people standing around in a warm lit stone bungalow. The film is written by KR Krishnakumar, Satheesh Kurup and is being produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas banner. It will be shot in Thodupuzha, which was the setting for Drishyam, as well.

Drishyam and Drishyam 2 are two landmark movies in the history of Mollywood. Drishyam which was released in 2013 became the first Mollywood film to enter the 50 crore club, while Drishyam 2 which was released on Amazon Prime Video and became a sensational hit. Both these films were directed by Jeethu Joseph. Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are also planning to team up for a third installment in the franchise, which has been titled Drishyam 3. Mohanlal and Jeethu are currently working on their third film together titled, Ram. Amidst the high expectations, the blockbuster director-actor combo has teamed up yet again for a mystery thriller, 12th Man.

The shooting of the film will go on floors after the completion of Ram. Meanwhile, Mohanlal has also teamed up with Prithviraj Sukumaran for the upcoming film titled, Bro Daddy. Mohanlal's upcoming big-budget movie Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham is expected to have its theatrical release on August 12, 2021. The film is directed by Priyadarshan, and it is widely considered the most expensive movie ever made in Malayalam.
