Director Chimbu Devan has made many successful films like ‘Imsai Arasan 23 Am Pulikesi’, ‘Arai En 305-il Kadavul’, ‘Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam’ and ‘Puli’. Chimbu Devan was also the creator of the trend for fantasy films in Tamil cinema.
Currently, the director joined hands with Yogi Babu. The upcoming film titled BOAT is a survival thriller, political comedy genre. The flick is financed by Chimbu Devan Entertainment. Gibran has composed the music for this film.
The teaser release ceremony of BOAT was held December 16 in Dubai. Set in a sea backdrop, BOAT teaser looks like the story of the film is happening before Independence. The film is about a group of people, who try to escape through a boat from a risky place.

It also features Gouri G. Kishan, M.S.Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Jesse Fox-Allen, Chaams, Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Kollapuli Leela, and Aaskshath Das.
Madhesh Manickam and Dinesh Ponraj serve as the cinematographer and editor respectively. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
