Thani Oruvan 2, the sequel to Jayam Ravi starrer Thani Oruvan, will reportedly start rolling from the second week of April 2024. On the film’s eighth anniversary, the makers released a promo video of the sequel, announcing that both Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara will reprise their roles.
Now the team is currently in discussions regarding the antagonist and music director for the sequel. Aamir Khan might be roped in to play the antagonist in 'Thani Oruvan 2'. If he does, he would be making his Tamil debut with the film. Music director Hip Hop Tamizha is also under consideration for the sequel.

Thani Oruvan showcased the story of Mithran played by Jayam Ravi who hunts Sidharth Abhimanyu (Aravind Swamy), a deadly businessman.
