Corona Papers, the recent Malayalam flick by Priyadarshan, which made its debut on the big screens on April 6, 2023. Within a short span since its theatre release, the film has locked in on its digital streaming partner and OTT release date. The film, which is a mazy suspense thriller, draws inspiration from Sri Ganesh's Tamil film '8 Thottakal', a movie that was adapted from Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa's 1949 film 'Stray Dog'.
Starring Shane Nigam, Siddique and Shine Tom Chacko in crucial roles. The movie received high praise from the viewers, even though it did not perform exceptionally well at the box office. The synopsis reads, "Rahul, a newly appointed officer, accidentally loses his service pistol. What happens when it lands in the wrong hands?".
In the movie Shane Nigam plays a police officer. Siddique's performance as Shankararaman in the film was highly praised by audiences, and Priyadarshan's direction was also noted as a standout feature of this thriller.
Thriller fans can now rejoice as 'Corona Papers' will be available for streaming on a leading OTT platform starting May 5, purportedly on Disney+ Hotstar. The film is available in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
