Jayam Ravi's latest film Iraivan / God will make its OTT streaming debut on October 26, less than a month after its theatrical release. Helmed by I Ahmed, billed as a crime thriller revolving around a serial killer. Ahmed has previously helmed Endrendrum Punnagai and Manithan.
Jayam Ravi, portraying the role of ACP Arjun, an encounter specialist, and Nayanthara, who graces the screen as his fiancee, Priya. Adding a twist to the narrative, Rahul Bose steps into the character of a psychopath aptly named 'Smiley Man.' The film also stars Narain, Vijayalakshmi, Charlie, Azhagam Perumal, and Vinoth Kishen among others.
Iraivan came out in cinemas on September 28 amid huge expectations. The movie's trailer was a big hit, promising the audiences a spine-chilling serial killer drama. However, upon its theatrical release, Iraivan garnered a variety of opinions from film critics. While Jayam Ravi's acting skills, the captivating background score, and thrilling action sequences were celebrated, the film faced its share of criticism. Some reviewers found fault with the screenplay, expressing disappointment in the soundtrack, and also commented on the excessive violence and the way romantic scenes were portrayed. And as a result, Iraivan tanked at the box office.
The psychological action thriller makes its OTT premiere on Netflix. Apart from Tamil, the movie will also be available for streaming in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages.
