We had earlier reported that, GV Prakash Kumar is teaming up with debutant director Nikesh, titled REBEL. The teaser of the film has been released and is going viral on the internet. The teaser, which spans 1 minute and 37 seconds, features GV Prakash as a fiery college student and leader of the student wing of a political party.

From the teaser, it is understood that Rebel would revolve around college politics. It is also revealed that the film is taking place in the Palakkad district of Kerala and has been inspired by true events.
Mamitha Baiju of Mukundan Unni Associates fame, will make her Kollywood debut through Rebel. Venkitesh VP, Shalu Rahim, Karunas, Adhithya Baskar, Kalloori Vinoth and Subramaniya Siva among others are also part of the cast.
The cinematography is handled by Arun Radhakrishnan. While Vetre Krishnan has been roped in as the editor. Apart from starring as the lead actor, GV Prakash is also composing the music for the film. Studio Green is financing the film.
