Siddharth, Sahasra Shree starrer ‘Chithha' was gearing up for its digital premiere on November 17. But the film's absence on the popular OTT platform caused chaos on social media as netizens questioned the makers. Whereas, the fact is the viral poster was fan-made, and the exact OTT release date of 'Chiththa' is on November 28.
The film, helmed by SU Arun Kumar, dropped in theatres on September 28 and received widespread critical acclaim from critics and became a commercial success. Chiththa is inspired from a Malayalam short film ‘Based On A True Story’, that released on YouTube in 2017 directed by Rajesh Ambattu.
Siddharth played the titular character Chithha (paternal uncle). The movie follows a man named Eeswaran, who raises his niece as his own. However, things take a turn when she is kidnapped and abused by a paedophile.
The film also includes an ensemble cast including Sahasra Shree, Nimisha Sajayan and Anjali Nair. It will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
