G.V. Prakash Kumar’s committed his next film with debutant director Maria Raja Elanchezian. The film has officially been titled Happy Raj. The female lead is Sri Gouri Priya.
Besides GV Prakash and Sri Gouri Priya, the film also stars Abbas — marking his comeback to Tamil cinema after a long gap (about 11–12 years). Other supporting cast includes names like George Mariyam, Prarthna, Adhirchi Arun, Madurai Muthu, and more.
According to director Maria Raja Elanchezian, Happy Raj aims to be a “high-spirited celebration of joy in cinema.” He described it as a film meant to bring optimism and light — “inner sunshine” — rather than just typical action or drama.
There are hints that GV Prakash might be playing a “superhero-esque” character in the film.
The title and first-look posters have been released recently.
The film seems to be positioning itself as a feel-good entertainer, likely aiming for a lighter, uplifting tone — a contrast to heavy action thrillers.
