Tamil veteran actor-filmmaker R. Parthiepan has finally started the shoot for the Hindi remake of his National Award-winning film Oththa Seruppu Size 7. Parthiepan is directing the Hindi with the same technical crew but the team is planning to sign a popular music composer from Bollywood.
Parthiban is known for his brave experiments in filmmaking. Otha Seruppu Size 7 is a thriller with a single actor in it. He produced, wrote, directed played the lead in the film. Abhishek Bachchan reprises Parthiepan's one-man role. The team kickstarted the film with a puja function and started rolling in Chennai.
The film which saw him playing the only character in the entire film, keeping the audience riveted to the screens for the runtime, was termed to be the actor’s ‘playground’ by critics.
The movie was selected for Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for its single person writing, directing, producing and solo acting. Also it was premiered in Singapore South Asian Film Festival. It also won a couple of awards at the 67th National Film Awards — Sound Mixing for Rasul Pookutty and Special Jury Award for Parthiban.
Meanwhile Parthiepan also completed his another project “Iravin Nizhal”, a multi starrer film in a single shot. His Tughlaq Darbar and Dhruva Natchathiram ready for release.
Oththa Seruppu is currently streaming on Netflix.
