Nivin Pauly’s recent time travel movie ‘Mahaveeryar’ had released in theatres in July 2022. The story was based on a short story penned by the writer M Mukundan. It was helmed by Abrid Shine and the flick, which marks Nivin’s third collaboration with Abrid Shine after 1983 and Action Hero Biju. The film tanked at the box office but received positive reviews from cine-goers.
Nivin Pauly plays a saint in the film. Asif Ali plays a man who belongs to a forgotten Kingdom. After a decade apart, Asif and Nivin reunite in the film. They last starred together in Rajesh Pillai's Traffic and Joshiy's Sevenes. Kannada actor Shanvi Srivastava plays the female lead. The rest of the cast included Lal, Siddique, Lalu Alex, and Major Ravi. The story is set in the 18th century. The characters time travel to the 21st century to seek justice for a woman.
The fantasy comedy film, is making its way to Sun NXT. The latest news is that movie will be premiering on February 10, 2023.
