In the first week of March 2023, there will be a variety of movies in a variety of genres and languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil, scheduled to debut on OTT platforms. Iratta, The Legend, Thalaikoothal and Waltair Veerayya are the most awaited releases on this list of movies releasing on OTT in the first week of March.

IRATTA

The plot of the film is touted to be a police story, with Joju George essaying a double role for the first time in his career. The two characters essay conflicting personalities, which often puts them at odds with each other.

WALTAIR VEERAYYA

Waltair Veerayya is an action drama that revolves around a fisherman, Veerayya and how he takes revenge for his brother's death. The movie was touted as a mass entertainer. While Ravi Teja plays the character of ACP Vikram Sagar (brother of Veerayya), Prakash Raj and Bobby Simha are antagonists in the movie.

THALAIKOOTHAL

The film narrates the story of the traditional practice of senicide (killing of the elderly) or involuntary euthanasia, by their own family members, which is observed in some parts of southern districts of Tamil Nadu in India

THE GREAT INDIAN KITCHEN

The Great Indian Kitchen is a Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed Malayalam film by the same name. The film highlights the plight of women confined to kitchens. The film deals with many issues such as domestic labour, patriarchal notions and the family system. The film also highlights how women’s sexual desires are suppressed by men and the misconception of ‘impurity’ associated with menstruating women.

GULMOHAR

Gulmohar is a family drama film that revolves around the multi-generation Batra family who are all set to move out of their 34-year-old family home. “This moving out triggers a re-discovery of the bonds that have held them together as a family, while grappling with personal secrets and insecurities,” the synopsis read.
