Malayalam Film 'Pookkaalam', which hit theatres in April 8, and even after receiving good responses from the audiences, the film didn't create much impact at the box office. The film features Vijayaraghavan and KPAC Leela in the lead roles, directed by Ganesh Raj of Aanandam fame. The flick finally has locked its OTT release date. It will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar from May 19, 2023, in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu.
The film also boasts a diverse and talented cast, including Vineeth Sreenivasan, Annu Antony, Basil Joseph and Johnny Antony in pivotal roles, is a feel-good family entertainer revolving around a couple who have been married for over 80 years. The movie is inspired by a true incident that had happened in Italy a few years ago and Ganesh had fictionalised it and set it to match Kerala’s socio-political setting.
The premise of Pookkaalam, as shared by the makers, reads, “A couple in their late 90s, lead a happy life with a large family of four generations. On the day of their granddaughter’s engagement, an unexpected event sends them on a magical journey that will test their familial bonds.”
