After a long wait of seven months, Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan starrer Hindi Action-Thriller Vikram Vedha will premiere on an OTT platform. The Pushkar-Gayatri directorial, a remake of the 2017 Tamil language film of the same name which starred the iconic actor duo Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. The story is inspired by the Indian folktale of Vikram Betal also known as Baital Pachisi.
The gangster drama revolves around an encounter specialist cop Vikram played by Saif Ali and a notorious gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan). The film also stars Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf and Yogita Bihani. The film tells the story of two anti-heroes Vikram (Saif Ali Khan), a cop, who wants to kill Vedha (Hrithik Roshan), a gangster. Vedha voluntarily surrenders and tells Vikram a story, which disturbs Vikram's life.
During the theatrical release, the film received positive reviews from critics and audience, with praise directed towards the direction, cinematography, screenplay, background score and the performances (particularly Saif Ali and Hrithik) but underperformed at the box office. Latest report is that the film premiering on Jio Cinema on May 12, not only in Hindi but also in Marathi and Bengali languages and that too without any subscription, absolutely free of cost.
