Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who has faced several disappointments recently, is looking forward to some promising upcoming films. Among them, "Barroz: Guardian of Treasures" holds significant importance as it marks his directorial debut as well.
Barroz is touted to be a fantasy film that has been written by Jijo Punnoose, who also wrote the novel the film is adapted from. Apart from directing, the film also has Mohanlal plays the lead role, with other significant roles being portrayed by Maya, Sara Vega, Tuhin Menon, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, and Guru Somasundaram.
The Malayalam actor shared the release date of the movie, along with a new poster on his official page on X. The film will officially hit the theaters on 28 March 2024, coinciding with the start of the summer holidays.
In the new poster of Barroz, Mohanlal takes on a completely different look as the guardian of the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama’s hidden treasure. The actor is seen wearing a royal blue suit, wielding a sword on one hand and holding a large golden shield on the other.
Santosh Sivan is the cinematographer, while the music is composed by Lydian Nadhaswaran and Mark Kilian. The project is backed by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
